Dr. Kate Laskowski has been named the 2017 CNMS Alumna of the Year. Kate did her undergraduate research with Jeff Leips and graduated from UMBC with a BS in Biological Science in 2006 (Magna cum Laude with departmental honors). She went on to receive a PhD from the University of Illinois and is now employed at the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology & Inland Fisheries (IGB), Department of Biology & Ecology of Fishes (Berlin, Germany).
