Enhance your research experience through the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP)!
The University System of Maryland’s Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (USM LSAMP) announces the opportunity for UMBC Students to participate in programming to enhance their summer research experience. If selected, you will join a community of undergraduate researchers, receive mentoring, attend professional development seminars, and be eligible for a financial award totaling up to $3,000 over the course of the program. The focus of the program is to help underrepresented students in STEM thrive personally, academically, and professionally.
Apply to research opportunities in any of the following NSF-classified STEM disciplines: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geosciences, Mathematics, Physics/Astronomy, or technology areas associated with the preceding fields (e.g., biotechnology, chemical technology, engineering technology, information technology).

To apply, complete the online application via the USM LSAMP Research Program application form. Deadline: Wednesday, March 30th, 2022.

Undergraduate Research Awards (URAs) Applications are now open! Apply for up to $1500 for your research or creative work.
Undergraduate Research Awards (URAs) provide up to $1,500 to undergraduate students to support their research, scholarship, or creative work with a UMBC faculty mentor on an original project. UMBC students of all years and disciplines are invited to apply, as long as they remain enrolled at UMBC long enough to complete the proposed work. Applications require a research proposal and mentor statement of support.
