Got an Internship/Research/Co-op this summer? Make it extraordinary!

 
Do you have a summer 2022 internship, co-op or research position? If so, consider enrolling in the UMBC Career Center's  Intern Success Practicum (PRAC 95/98/99) course!  It is FREE and there are many benefits including the chance to:
 
  • Earn an internship or research notation on your official UMBC transcript
  • Potentially earn academic internship credit in conjunction with the Practicum (optional - varies by major)
  • Engage in professional development  activities specifically for interns
  • Obtain a performance evaluation from your site supervisor
 
"How do I sign up?"
 To register, log into UMBCworks, click "Experiential Learning" on the left menu, then "Add New Experience." If you are interested in exploring academic credit options, indicate this on the registration form and we will follow up with more information. IMPORTANTPlease be sure to attach verification of your internship to the registration form.
 
 
The practicum course is  open to all majors and is offered each semester. Enrollment deadline for summer 2022 is July 13, 2022.

Interested in finding a job in a different country? GoinGlobal is holding a Student Training Session Wednesday, May 11th!

7:00pm-8:00pm

 

This event will:

+ Explain the career tools and job search resources available from Going Global

+ Provide examples and tips for finding international company information and job & internship opportunities

+ Offer an opportunity for attendees to submit questions about Going Global's services

What Can You Be With a Ph.D.? Interest Poll

Are you a UMBC Ph.D. candidate or post-doctoral fellow who is considering a non-academic career upon completion of your studies (e.g., biopharmaceutical industry, government)? Are you actively looking for a job now or will be looking for one within a year?

If you answered yes to these questions, we are seeking your input on a possible program designed to help prepare you to enter the job market!  The program would be tailored to help you in the following ways:

  • introducing you to career options
  • teaching you effective ways of finding and applying to jobs in the Maryland region
  • building your professional network
  • connecting you to local employers
